The hometown group, Eric Grant Band, greeted the fans to an early concert on the Magic Hat Stage as the sun continued to pierce the day. Shortly after, gates opened for the die-hards and early-arrivers as the lines ushered through the turnstiles. With one of the most beautiful backdrops for tailgating, fans fired up their grills and turned up their radios for the parking lot party. Traffic lined the back roads of Gilford several hours before the show. For three sold-out nights at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion, the trio rocked the stage in front of all ages of country fans in the heat of mid July. Larger than ever, Luke brought his buddies Dustin Lynch and Randy Houser along for the ride on his Kick The Dust Up Tour to the Granite State. Tickets were at an all-time premium, as each show saw passes being bought at an alarming rate. To the delight of many, three huge weekday shows were added for Gilford and New England Country Music was there for night one. The former So You Think You Can Dance judge, along with Luke Bryan, won the award for CMT Performance of the Year thanks to their onstage performance of "Want to Want Me" from CMT Crossroads. Jason Derulo shockingly won a CMT award given he is a pop sensation. Underwood also won Female Video of the Year for "Church Bells." She edged out Ballerini's "Peter Pan," Alaina's "Road Less Traveled," Maren Morris' "80s Mercedes," and Reba McEntire's "Back to God" for the win. Urban was also crowned Social Superstar after defeating Jake Owen, Kelsea Ballerini, Alaina, and Rhett in this category. The duo beat the following nominees for the honor: Artists Then, Now & Forever with "Forever Country," Chris Young featuring Vince Gill with "Sober Saturday Night," Dierks Bentley and Elle King with "Different for Girls," Florida Georgia Line featuring Tim McGraw with "May We All," and Kenny Chesney featuring Pink with "Setting the World on Fire." Urban and Underwood, who won the fourth season of American Idol, won the award for Collaborative Video of the Year with their song "The Fighter."
